Job Description
Wireless/Embedded Applications Engineer
Our client is looking for a Connectivity Applications Engineer with Embedded software and wireless, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 exp. to work with Sales and Marketing to secure new design opportunities and provide application support to ensure the automotive customers reach production as quickly as possible.
The role facilitates the customer development process by ensuring that customers technical requirements are met. This is achieved through working with customers to identify their technical specifications, advising them on implementation issues, testing scenarios that concern their projects and validating software and hardware deliverables within the scope of their project.
Contributes to app notes, white papers, referencedesigns and undertakes design reviews, HW/RF evaluations, SW porting/integration and analysis of problems on customer projects.
Provides application support and training (presentations, workshops and demos) to our customers, distributors, internal staff and regional FAE teams.
Travel to key customer sites and regional offices.
Experience:
- Excellent experience with embedded hardware and software debugging using PC software tools, power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMM and logic analysers.
- Technical ability and some experience in Embedded C programming, comprehension of specifications and software architecture implementations. Source code control and configuration management.
- Knowledge of C/C++ programming language.
- Knowledge of wireless technology, specifically Bluetooth, FM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS and Wireless USB
- Ability to understand both detailed hardware/software components and top level/system issues
- Hands on experience of capturing/analysing air traces using wireless sniffers
- Applications engineering in a semiconductor environment Knowledge of Unix based environments and/or other programming/Scripting languages eg Python, Perl, Labview Knowledge of Assembler and DSP programming.
- Knowledge of in-vehicle protocols CAN, MOST, LIN, Flexray, etc. Knowledge of in-vehicle systems for infotainment and rear seat entertainment.
- Knowledge of echo and noise suppression algorithms used in the vehicle for hands free.
- Fujitsu, NEC, QNX, Microsoft Automotive
- Engineering Degree (or equivalent qualification)
