Job Description: The role of the Embedded Software Engineer is to design, develop and test Embedded software for communications chips, focussing on DSP. There are two main areas of work: firstly with R&D on DSP algorithm development and secondly combining and extending both DSP deliveries from R&D and specific audio application.

The on chip Microprocessor is programmed in C, whilst the DSP side is coded entirely in Assembler. Various different programs are used on PCs for debugging/testing and emulating host processor functionality. These are written in a variety of languages including C, C++, python, Perl and TCL.

Requirements: Suitable candidates for the role of Embedded Software Engineer will need to have:

  • BS or MS in Maths, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent
  • Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems. Demonstrated innovative and creative thinking capabilities.
  • DSP programming experience, including familiarity with assembly language
  • Highly professional, flexible, with the ability to deliver high quality work on tight schedules
  • Self motivated, independent, proactive and able to work effectively in a group
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
