Job Description

My client, a growing organisation developing niche and medium-volume products for automotive and related industries, is urgently looking to expand its hardware engineering team with the addition of a number of key staff.

I am looking for exceptional, experienced candidates, preferably from the automotive (or related) industries, who are looking to join a growing organisation at an exciting time in its development.

Your background should ideally include the following experience:

  • Delivery of high quality, robust, cost effective designs of automotive and adjacent market electronic products.
  • Guiding the development or redefinition of existing hardware design processes to ensure the primary delivery responsibilities can be fulfilled on a repeatable basis.
  • Providing significant technical and effort input to proposals in support of new business wins.
  • Planning and executing cost-effective automotive electronic product designs suitable for volume manufacture within agreed timing, cost and quality targets.
  • Performing design activities including (but not limited to): requirements capture, specification writing, circuit design and analysis, component selection, DFMEA, reliability analysis, validation testing, test and engineering report writing, and documentation.
  • Day-to-day co-ordination within a cross-functional design team including Hardware, Mechanical and Software. Liaison, where required, with outsourced Validation and Manufacturing partners.
  • Ensuring that designs are executed in accordance with internal and customer quality/process requirements to achieve clean product launches.
  • Interfacing with the customer\'s engineering team, including management as appropriate.
  • Providing supervision and coaching to junior engineers.

Coming from a sector such as automotive which includes design for medium-to-high-volume manufacture is essential, as is strong experience in all levels of hardware design.

Please note, although initially we are looking for candidates with several years experience, candidates with 2+ years relevant experience and ambition will also be considered for roles within the organisation.

Please send your CV for initial review or call for further details.
