Job Description
Our client, based in Royston, Hertfordshire is looking to recruit a Consultant Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience of product development in a high technology industry and a 1st or high 2.1 degree from a leading university.
They are seeking an experienced project leader with exceptional mechanical engineering skills to lead and operate demanding development projects, and to take a role in building new business. The successful candidate will have first class technical and communication skills, experience at leading large multidisciplinary projects and an interest in and aptitude for developing new business.
The Role
* Deliver results as project and technology leader of development programmes, using your extensive engineering experience to make sound technical and project decisions while controlling timelines and budgets in demanding product developments.
* Take responsibility for all aspects of client communications and management, focussing on clients' needs and exceeding their expectations.
* Identify and pursue opportunities to develop new business through individual and team efforts, building relationships with international clients to achieve both new and repeat business.
The Qualifications
* Exceptional mechanical engineer with extensive experience of product development in a high technology industry.
* 1st or high 2.1 degree from leading university.
* Demonstrate use of core technical skills to solve difficult technical problems.
* Track record of leading highly challenging projects, delivered in short timescales.
* Ambitious, showing rapid and continued growth throughout their career.
* Excellent commercial understanding, ideally including understanding of contracts, negotiation, intellectual property, proposals and business development.
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary science and engineering teams.
