Job Description
Our client, based in Cambridge is looking for a Business Development Manager (Wireless) with substantial experience and a track record of wireless design and development. Candidates must also have a degree in an appropriate technical subject.
Main purpose of the job
To contribute to the development of business in the field of professional wireless design and development services. The role offers a high level of diversity through the application of the latest wireless technology in a wide range of market sectors. The business development activity involves the creation of value propositions, based on design skills and intellectual property in wireless technology and communicating these propositions to the market through focussed sales and marketing activities.
Specific responsibilities
To create and support focussed business development / sales campaigns based on our investment in technology and skills within the wireless division
To identify target companies and devise appropriate technical / professional services offerings
To initiate contact, make pre-sales visits and identify prospective business opportunities
To build specific sales propositions and develop them into commercial relationships with clients
To lead the bid teams - working alongside a project manager and technical authority
To close sales - negotiating terms and conditions
To be part of the project delivery team, remaining ultimately responsible for the client relationship and commercial success of the programme.
Minimum requirements
A degree in an appropriate technical subject
Substantial experience and a track-record of wireless design and development
Experience of complex, high-value, technical sales / business development
Market knowledge of existing technology (Broadband and Cellular, Bluetooth, WiMAX, WiFi, NFC, DECT, ZigBee, Satellite, UWB as well as custom radio solutions)
Experience of taking wireless products through the full development cycle is highly desirable
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Supplementary commercial qualifications are highly desirable
Above all, real responsibility for real business problems, with good career prospects based on merit
