Job Description

Our client, based in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer with experience in Quality Systems management in an ISO9001 certified environment. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an engineering subject, probably with strong electronics design content.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the management of quality systems and hands-on approach to testing of prototype products to meet global product regulations.

The Quality Engineer will manage and control all quality and certification documentation and records.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

* Co-ordinate all product releases through stage gates of the development process.

* Arrange, supervise and report on prototype testing for electrical safety, IP rating, emc compatibility, hazardous one approval tests.

* Administrate ISO9001 and ISO14001 and any other quality system and audit processes.

* Control technical files recording product development processes.

* Co-ordinating the writing and maintenance of product test procedures.

* Set-up and maintain procedures and equipment for end of line product testing.

* Establish and operate a company-wide control system for product quality feedback and action.

* Maintain all electronic and paper records in relation to the above.

* Champion and engender a spirit of critical inspection by everyone in the procurement to delivery chain.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Degree level in an engineering subject, probably with strong electronics design content.

* The successful candidate will have been directly involved in quality systems management in an ISO9001 certified environment and will be able to show a keen interest in all aspects of quality in a small manufacturing company.

* The candidate will have had hands-on technical experience, possibly as a design engineer, in taking instrumentation products through the tests required to permit a CE mark, as specified by the appropriate standards.

* Good attention to detail.

* The ability to communicate with staff at all levels to ensure that actions are completed.
