Job Description
Our client, based in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit an Electronic Systems Design Engineer with extensive experience in an industrial electronics design environment as a designer of analogue and digital circuits. Candidates must also have an honours degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering.
Job Description
The role of the Electronic Systems Design Engineer would suit a self motivated engineer able to perform design of low frequency analogue circuits in our client's range of sensors, controllers and accessories. The instruments will typically also include digital processor circuitry and communications interfaces. The ability to program embedded firmware is essential (mainly in the C programming language). Sensors will employ electrical and optical phenomena to detect industrial levels of particulate.
Qualifications and Experience
An honours degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering.
Extensive experience in an industrial electronics design environment as a designer of analogue and digital circuits.
Strong analogue design abilities are essential to this role. Digital design is mainly concerned with embedded processor hardware design, the interface to the analogue circuits and communications protocols. The candidate must exhibit experience of significant embedded software programming.
In depth knowledge as a user of industry standard software for schematic drawings, circuit simulation. Our client currently uses CADSTAR.
Proven record of successful on-the-market product design.
In depth understanding of the principles of sensors and terminology used to describe sensor performance.
In depth understanding of current microprocessors and their use.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design of analogue and digital circuits
Programming embedded software
Visits to industrial sites in support of new instrument trials
Self-management of assigned projects and reporting to management
