Job Description
Our client, based in Royston, Hertfordshire, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer with experience of laser cutting and/or working with high temperature alloys. The successful candidate is likely to come from metal fabrication environments within the aerospace industry.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To investigate and troubleshoot current manufacturing issues, ensuring that customer specifications and company quality standards are met.
KEY TASKS
* Engineering planning within agreed timescales, in accordance with customer specifications and the company's quality assurance manual.
* Produce inspection reports and ballooned drawings for internal inspection to complete for product verification.
* Resolve internal engineering issues.
* To document the progress of projects and provide regular updates to the engineering manager.
* To represent the company at various levels.
* To contribute to tooling / engineering meetings.
* To support the company's continuous improvement program.
* Ensure that best practice techniques are used.
* To provide engineering support to internal and external customers.
* To undertake special projects as requested.
* To perform all reasonable requests made by management.
* To provide cover for other engineering disciplines as requested.
Candidates for this role must have first-hand experience over a couple of years of laser cutting and/or working with high-temperature alloys. Their knowledge of hot forming processes will enable them to understand the work undertaken by the Sheet Metal Fabricators. Candidates are therefore likely to come from metal fabrication environments within the aerospace industry.
