Job Description

Our client, based in Cambridge is seeking a Quality and Technical Engineer with a good knowledge of AS 9100 quality system, 5S Implementation and Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing as well as experience of preparing Quality Plans, FAI, FMEA and Process Map.

The main responsibilities of the Quality and Technical Engineer are to:

Provide quality engineering support to manufacturing, helping to ensure delivery of the highest production yields.

Investigate root cause of quality issues and following through on corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Use and establish analysis techniques and quality control tools to aid in decision making.

Identify opportunities for quality system and quality process improvements and work with task teams in achieving these.

Co-ordinate and implement Quality Process Control.

Understand and ensure compliance with both the company's and external regulatory quality systems requirements.

Prepare and co-ordinate validation protocols and validation activities in conjunction with NPI and Production Engineering.

Evaluate and report on customer complaints, being responsible for the collection of complaint data and preparation of this data for weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews.

Prepare analysis (Yield, PARETO, PPM, SPC, etc.).

Solve problems and prepare preventive and corrective actions (CAR, PDCA-Action Tracker).

Review and approve document change requests.

Liaise with customers regarding the Pilot Run, New Product Introduction, Current Production and Supply Approval.

Handle Claims Process.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of AS 9100 quality system, 5S Implementation and Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing, as well as experience of preparing Quality Plans, FAI, FMEA and Process Map.
