Job Description

Our client, based in Cambridge is seeking a Test Technician with a degree or similar in electronics or mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will be a skilled lab technician with familiarity of environmental chambers and electronically based test regimes.

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a test technician to run the testing programmes on their range of. These sensors require rigorous proving over a range of environmental conditions and their inherent accuracy validated.

The role

As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for:

Running defined series of tests (some automated) in a laboratory, recording results and presenting conclusions

Refining the test methods where appropriate to improve the speed and value of the data

Maintaining and developing the test systems according to the requirements of the product

Building up prototype sensors and incorporating them into the test systems

To be successful in this environment and realise your potential you

Will be a skilled lab technician with familiarity of environmental chambers and electronically based test regimes

May have a degree or similar in electronics or mechanical engineering

Ideally enjoy problem solving and using test data to suggest likely improvements

Are practically capable to build up sensitive assemblies with a consistent approach

Show sufficient numeracy to process date, graphing and analysing the results

Demonstrate a good understanding of materials and their performance: strength, thermal electrical etc.
