Job Description
Our client, based in Cambridgeshire is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer with a minimum of 2 years electronics design experience. The successful candidate will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electronics or Communication Engineering)
The main role of the Electronic Design Engineer is to be responsible for design and implementation of electronic test fixtures to enable manual and automated testing of the company's tracking silicon.
The following attributes are considered necessary for this role:
* Degree qualified or equivalent in Electronics or Communication Engineering
* Minimum of two years electronic design experience
* Experience in high speed analogue, low noise linear and switch mode power supply design
* Ability to bring up/commission new test board designs and validate against design specifications
* Experience in controlling multi-layer PCB layouts to meet design requirements
* Experience communications skills both verbal and written
* Capable of writing detailed design documents
* Excellent analytical and diagnosis skills with a common sense approach to problem solving
The successful candidate would ideally have experience of the following:
* Experience of automated testing
* Experienced using standards test equipment. (DMM, Oscilloscope, Spectrum and Network Analysers)
* Programming experience (C, VBA, LabVIEW, Matlab)
* Mechanical design experience
This role would suit a self motivated person who will assume responsibility from design concept through to board bring-up and verification.
