Job Description

Our client, based in Cambridge is seeking a Logistics Coordinator with at least 5 years' leadership experience in a shipping/despatch/production environment.

The main duties of the Logistics Coordinator are:

to lead a working group ensuring that the daily and weekly shipping plan is achieved through the most effective use of resources employed. Work with Area Team Leader to achieve medium and long term area improvement objectives* Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all employees in line with statutory and Company requirements. Ensure that reports for all aspects of health and safety are pro-actively completed.

* Motivate the team to maintain the highest standard of housekeeping and implement improvements in line with the Manufacturing 5S philosophy. Implementing projects through root cause analysis and provide visual updates in line with the Company's Mission Directed Working Teams.

* Leadership and management of human resource within section, including measurement of time and attendance and performance management.

* Carry out bi-annual performance reviews with section staff in line with Company appraisal process.

* Liaising with Material Control and Manufacturing to ensure all materials are available to meet shipping plans.

* Ensure that Oracle system correctly reflects despatch status in real time, through accurate and timely bookings of cycle counting and inventory.

* Ensure new operators are correctly trained and that a training plan is establishes and maintained.

* Provide management resource to Area Team Leader as required, to ensure achievement of area shipping targets and development objectives. Report monthly on all aspects of progress.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate should have 5 years' leadership experience in a despatch/shipping/production environment. Excellent leadership qualities and have experience of managing staff. PC Skills (Excel and Oracle or equivalent), good communication skills (at all levels) be well organised and good at problem solving.
