Job Description
Our client based in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Good Inwards Inspector.
Purpose of the Role:
* Ensuring that workloads are planned and prioritised and functions are carried out in an efficient and timely manner that best meets the changing needs of the business
* The role is a multipurpose role which combines goods receiving and quality assurance of products received into the company.
Goods In
As part of the goods inwards function the role will include checking off, counting, putting away of deliveries and booking goods received onto the in-house system.
Kitting items such as fixing kits and repacking of products into more suitable quantities where required, as goods are received to help maximise the efficiency of the kitting to the production line process.
Goods receiving of non stocked items such as stationery, NonCon returns and any other delivery the company may receive.
Also ensuring the goods receiving database is maintained at all times to ensure the efficiency and productivity is maintained within all the departments at all times.
The role also includes management functions creating space within the stores areas allowing for quick and efficient receipt of goods.
Management of locations to ensure storage space is fully utilized. This will include running the multiple location report and where possible consolidating stock. Physical inventory checking of stock on a continuous basis performing regular cycle count checks of stock ensuring the physical stock is accurate against the in-house system.
Other duties will include but not limited to liaising with other internal departments such as purchasing, planning, production and external stakeholders such as supplier and couriers.
Inspection
The main function of the inspection role is to check for the conformance or non conformance of parts or assemblies which are being received through goods inwards
The inspections process will involve checking materials against electrical and mechanical drawings. Inspecting and testing the items where required for conformance or non conformance.
Along with the inspection of the physical goods themselves also checking for the conformance or non conformance of packaging and storage of items against any current or future requirements within the business.
The role in time may develop some further testing requirements of conformance and non conformance of PCBs. After analysis of the finding of conformance and non conformance of PCBs received some simple testing processes may form part of the inspection role to assist with the overall efficiency and productivity of the business.
The role will also include some administration tasks to assist in capturing data required to identify conformance or non conformance items. To assist in developing supplier grading structure and other requirements to ensure the overall conformance of items received by the business.
Dimensions of Role:
Maintaining a smooth and efficient work flow within the goods inwards area. Checking off and receiving all types of deliveries received in to the company including all stock and non stock deliveries.
Liaising with the quality department to build, develop, implement and ensure an ongoing robust quality inspection process checking the quality of all goods received with the aim to provide data to build supplier grading.
