Job Description
Our client, based in Hertfordshire is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work on a new product that they are currently developing
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the consumables, a critical part of the overall system can be delivered to our customers efficiently and at the right quality and price.
Accountabilities
* Work with Purchasing specialist to develop a robust high quality supply chain
* Implement sound manufacturing processes for the consumable from initial assembly, through sterilisation, calibration, packaging, sample testing and delivery.
* Develop packaging for the consumables
* Implement a sound stocking, order and delivery process for the consumables that fits in with current company processes
* Maintain and improve the design of the consumables, in consultation with the systems design authority.
Qualifications
Good degree, or equivalent, in Manufacturing Engineering
Key Job Skills
Essential
* Excellent manufacturing, engineering and process design skills
* Experience of the design of jigs and fixtures for manufacturing
* Sound knowledge and experience of NPI processes
* Maintaining product designs and manufacturing documentation
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of engineering standards
* Sound understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFMA)
* Good understanding and experience of Lead practice
Desirable
* Working knowledge of biological processes
* Plastic consumables experience
