Job Description
Our client, based in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work on low level Windows driver development projects to enable computers to efficiently interact with various hardware products.
This work requires a good understanding of PC hardware and a deep understanding of how to efficiently interact with Windows at the driver level.
Experience with writing quality windows drivers is the core skill for the Software Engineer role.
Experience in any of the following areas would also be beneficial:
Remote access KVM-via-IP, video graphics, data compression techniques, encryption, USB and HID support, virtual media, Linux drivers, networking etc.
Although the focus of this role is at the driver level, it will also encompass writing suitable user interfaces to enable users to interact with the drivers.
This role will also involve elements of research, experimentation and innovation so the ideal candidate will be enthused by discovering innovative solutions to difficult technical challenges in areas that they may not have previously encountered.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working at a higher structural level as well as a lower detailed implementation level.
Candidates should have a good degree or equivalent educational qualifications.
