Personal Bankers

c.£20,000 - £27,800 on target earnings (uncapped bonus potential) + outstanding benefits
About us

Not all high street banks are the same. Here at Barclays, we’re constantly looking for ways to make life easier for our customers. Simpler products. Clearer communication. And every member of the team working together to create a more enjoyable customer experience. For our customers the benefits are obvious. Better advice. Greater control. And the confidence that comes from knowing we’re making their money work harder for them. For our people, it makes for a far more challenging, rewarding and inspiring backdrop to their career.

About the role

Based in one of our branches, you’ll provide a personal banking service to our retail customers. Essentially, this will involve spending time with each individual to work out what they want from their bank and establishing how they can get the best out of Barclays. Whether that involves a current account, a credit card, a mortgage, insurance or a personal loan, you’ll give them the quality advice they need or point them in the direction of a qualified colleague who can. Our most successful Personal Bankers are the ones who go the extra mile for their customers, look beyond their immediate needs and think about their longer-term relationship with the Bank.

About you

Financial services experience is by no means essential. You could just as easily come to us from some other consultative sales environment such as retail, hospitality or travel. So long as you have a good head for figures and a sharp eye for detail, our combination of classroom based and on-the-job training will soon bring you up to speed. More important are pin-sharp customer focus, a flair for developing relationships, the perception to recognise new opportunities and the initiative to make the most of each and every one.

About the rewards

Aside from the excellent OTE, our package includes an excellent contributory pension scheme, special discounts on Barclays products and services and a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits, including private healthcare. There are lots of other ways we recognise the achievements of our Personal Bankers too - from informal lunches and regular awards celebrations to luxury overseas trips for our top performers.

About your prospects

For many, what starts out as essentially an entry level role quickly develops into a challenging and rewarding long-term career. But if you decide your aspirations lie in other areas, it’s the perfect stepping stone into Branch Management or any number of other opportunities across the Group, such as Financial Planning, Local Business Management and Relationship Management.
